Job Summary:
The School Social Worker is responsible for providing comprehensive social services to students within the educational setting. They will address social, emotional, behavioral, and academic barriers that may hinder students' success, and collaborate with school staff, parents, and community agencies to develop and implement effective interventions. The School Social Worker will adhere to ethical standards and legal guidelines while promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
1. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
2. Assess students' needs through observation, interviews, and assessment tools to develop appropriate interventions.
3. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
4. Provide crisis intervention and support to students and families in times of emergencies or critical incidents.
5. Advocate for students' rights and provide referrals to appropriate community resources and services.
6. Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including progress notes and documentation of services provided.
7. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss students' progress, needs, and required interventions.
8. Collaborate with school staff to develop and deliver social-emotional learning (SEL) programs and workshops.
9. Stay updated with current research, best practices, and legal requirements related to school social work.
10. Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives targeting student well-being and mental health.
